What should I do when I’m accused?

If at all possible, contact James Kosnett and the Kosnett Law Firm as soon as possible — before meeting with the dean’s office, office of student conduct or any other administrative office at your school. Despite the welcoming atmosphere, those offices may be able to use your words against you later in a proceeding, preventing you from receiving due process and providing ammunition for the school in the dispute.

Every school has different and often confusing rules for when a student may obtain and consult with an attorney. If possible, we prefer to appear on your behalf or at your side. If that’s not possible, our job is to prepare you thoroughly for any hearing or administrative meeting — through coaching, ghostwriting of documents and letters, and providing other advice on protecting yourself and your future.

Additionally, the Kosnett Law Firm is prepared to go to court and fight your college or university’s decision on your behalf, sue to recover tuition and fees, and seal your record and transcript.

What Our Clients Say

I am an alumni adviser for a fraternity at USC. The chapter was involved in a disciplinary action with the university. After receiving unusually harsh and unfair sanctions from a student/faculty review committee, our chapter sought counsel from James Kosnett. He attended a hearing with USC administrators, and prepared a compelling written appeal.

-Thanks to James Kosnett we won our appeal..
